School-Based Trauma Intervention

Children & Families First offers school-based trauma intervention programs for children ages 5-18 who have been exposed to stressful and traumatic events.  Research has shown that children participating in Trauma Intervention programs have significantly fewer symptoms of post-traumatic stress and depression.

By providing services to students in a school setting, obstacles such as transportation, schedule conflicts, and stigma related to mental health are removed.  Services are offered at no cost to the students' families or school.

For information on either program, call 302-545-2734.

Funding for these programs is provided through the Delaware Department of Education, Delaware Criminal Justice Council by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime.
