Safe Sleep Ambassador Asaiah Beaman Fisher of Children & Families First shared tips and guidelines to help keep sleeping babies safe and prevent SIDS and other sleep-related causes of death in infants at the January 21st free Community Baby Shower hosted by Christiana Cares.

Recognized and respected for their expertise in trauma and adversity, Children & Families First (CFF) took another bold step forward to lead positive change on November 28, 2022 – welcoming Dr. Julius Mullen back to the organization as its first Chief Inclusion Officer.

Delaware families, stakeholders celebrate National Adoption Month - December 4, 2022

National Adoption Day is a shared effort to raise awareness of children waiting in foster care for families to make a lifetime commitment to them through adoption. Delaware has 34 children who we are actively recruiting adoptive families.

Lunch with a Purpose supports Children & Families First - November 20, 2022

Held at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club, over 250 people attended the November 2nd, 2022 luncheon in support of Children & Families First where CEO, Kirsten Olson was the honored guest speaker. Through raffle basket ticket sales and a 50/50 raffle more than $6000 was raised.

State and community partners launch Delaware-centric equity database - November 16, 2022

The database was created after state and community partners identified the need for an accessible, user-friendly data platform that brings together local information to combat inequity such as those with high low-income rates, or low rates of preventative healthcare screenings. Children and Families First CEO Kirsten Olson says there’s no such thing as too much data in order to understand the people and communities we serve.

Robin Washington, participant in CFF's Nurse Family Partnership program says her personal nurse Nate Morris has been adviser, coach, friend, and confidant. “She’s good. She’s wonderful,’’ Washington said. “She’s actually why I really don’t listen to other parents. I did the opposite of what a lot of people, my friends, did. And I achieved more.”

Innovative funding model to help new NCC mothers - September 1, 2022

New Castle County and a coalition of nonprofit and charitable partners have launched a new initiative to assist first-time mothers access quality prenatal and postnatal health care that will utilize innovative, outcomes-based funding and a public-private reimbursement plan.
