Just in Time Care

Employees

Just in Time Care is a comprehensive backup care referral service that helps you identify and pay for backup child care and adult/elder care when your regular care arrangements are not available. The term “regular” care varies from person to person. Just in Time Care specialists will assist you in determining what alternative care options will best meet your needs.

Just in Time Care can be used when:

  • Your dependent’s regular care is not available, either for anticipated reasons (family child care provider is on vacation, school holidays, etc.) or unanticipated reasons (school is closed because of inclement weather, your child or adult/elder is ill, etc.); and

  • You need to get to work; and

  • Your need for backup care is short-term (fewer than 10 consecutive days)

You must be an eligible employee of one of Just in Time Care’s corporate clients in order to receive this service.

I Need to Enroll!

The Just in Time Care program can help you find alternative care options such as drop-in care at centers or family child care homes in your community. Just in Time Care can also link you to professional in-home agencies that can send caregivers to your home. You can also choose your own backup care provider – whether it’s a child care center or family child care provider that you know, an in-home health agency you are familiar with, or a friend or relative.

Each employer chooses how to customize their company’s program. Your company’s specific information is outlined in the Just in Time Care enrollment packet, which contains a booklet with details about the program, enrollment forms, and invoices to use.

Already Enrolled

I Am Not Sure if I Am Already Enrolled

If you are not sure if you are enrolled in Just in Time Care, please contact us or call 800-537-5557.

If you have enrolled in Just in Time Care in the past you do not need to re-enroll unless you did not use your Just in Time Care subsidy for a three-year pe
riod. However, you are encouraged to provide Just in Time Care with any updated information (name change, change of address, new child, etc.) to keep your enrollment current.

There is no specific enrollment period so you can enroll at any time during the year, but if you have not enrolled prior to a backup care situation, please enroll within a month of using the service. In addition, those employees who expect to use the service are strongly urged to enroll prior to using care to avoid the additional stress or delay that might be caused by completing necessary paperwork on the day you need care.
