¿Qué es CBITS?

La Intervención cognitivo-conductual para el trauma en las escuelas (o CBITS) tiene como objetivo aliviar los síntomas del TEPT y la ansiedad generalizada entre los niños expuestos a un trauma. CBITS se ha utilizado con mayor frecuencia para estudiantes en los grados cinco a doce (de 10 a 18 años).

Al proporcionar servicios a los estudiantes en un entorno escolar, se eliminan los obstáculos como el transporte, los conflictos de horarios y el estigma relacionado con la salud mental. Los servicios para los estudiantes se ofrecen sin costo para la familia o la escuela del estudiante.

¿Qué tipo de contenido incluye CBITS?

CBITS enseña las siguientes técnicas:

  • reacciones comunes al trauma

  • entrenamiento de relajación

  • Terapia cognitiva

  • exposición en la vida real

  • exposición al estrés o trauma

  • habilidades para resolver problemas sociales
