Truancy Counseling

Counseling and case management services help middle school youth and their families involved in our Truancy Program by getting at the root causes of truancy. Referrals are accepted from visiting teachers and other school personnel, Truancy Court and families concerned about school issues. Counseling is provided for youth ages 9 to 14 and their families in our Wilmington and Newark offices, in homes and in other convenient community locations.

Sessions:

  • Help families find the best solutions for the truancy problem
  • Use a variety of treatment strategies based on the assessment and diagnosis
  • Incorporate the help of additional resources and support identified by the clients such as extended family or friends
