ARC Educational Sessions

ARC counselors teach students in school and community settings about issues relating to human sexuality and responsible decision making. Presentations are geared toward elementary, middle, and high school youth. Parent groups are also available.

Sessions are usually held for three to four consecutive days. The topics are selected in consultation with the group leader or classroom teacher and include such subjects as:

  • Abstinence
  • Acquaintance Rape
  • Communication Skills
  • Contraception
  • Dating Violence
  • Decision Making
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Negotiating Contraception Use
  • Puberty (May include Anatomy and Reproduction)
  • Refusal/Negotiation Skills
  • Self Esteem
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections
  • Teen Pregnancy Issues
  • Values Clarification

All course material is age appropriate utilizing a variety of educational techniques. The goal is to promote thought, self-awareness and group discussions on issues relating to sexuality.
