ADOPTION

Children & Families First is committed to finding loving, supportive families for children who need permanent homes through adoption. Individual consideration is given to each family's situation in relation to the needs of the specific child or children.

Children of all racial backgrounds need adoption, however, most are African American. Many of the children have special needs or situations, such as:

  • Traumatic separations from caretakers
  • Multiple foster home placements
  • Part of a sibling group
  • 8 years of age or older
  • Challenging, difficult behaviors
  • Prenatal exposure to drugs and/or alcohol
  • Physically and/or mentally challenged
  • At-risk for HIV/AIDS
  • Legal risk adoption placements (when parents' rights are not yet terminated)
  • Open adoption with direct contact with birth family

LYNN
(post date: July 29, 2008)

Lynn is a 13 year old boy who desires to be adopted. He would prefer to be placed with a Caucasian family with no more than two children. He enjoys anything to do with cars, playing video games, playing sports, attending camp, attending church, and spending time with his current family. He is a good helper around the house and enjoys being able to take care of the dog. Lynn still has contact with his birth mother and visits with his little sister. He would like to be able to continue this. He is diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, and depression. He needs a family that can be firm, loving, and patient. He struggles in school with both academics and behaviors. His future family will have to be involved in his schooling. Lynn is a very kind-hearted boy who wants to continue his search for a forever family.
